IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Zack Sabre Jr. was announced as Tokyo Sports’ 2024 MVP Award winner, becoming only the second non-Japanese wrestler to win the award after Bob Sapp was the first name to win the award back in 2002.

Speaking with New Japan Pro Wrestling’s official website on the honor, Zack Sabre Jr. stated that he was really pleased to win the award, and believed that this was the best year that he has ever had in his career, noting that his goal was to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship and enter Wrestle Kingdom 19 as the Champion, and he has accomplished just that.
