WWE Studios have purchased the English language remake rights to the Norwegian slasher movie “Cold Prey”, which is described as a cross between “The Grey” and “The Revenant” with a strong female lead, according to a report from Deadline Hollywood.

The plot for the movie centers around a group of friends who decide to ski out of bounds and are forced to take shelter when a storm hits, finding themselves imprisoned in an abandoned ski lodge along with a maniacal killer. The original film has already seen several sequels made and is often hailed as one of the best and most successful modern Norwegian horror franchises.

Casey La Scala, who was a producer on Donnie Darko and will be the producer on the upcoming Amityville: The Awakening, will serve as writer and executive producer on the project.
