The following are the results of the October 21st edition of WWE RAW, which took place from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. This is the final RAW before the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view this Sunday.
In Ring Segment
The power couple of the WWE are in the ring to open up RAW tonight. Stephanie McMahon goes over the complete card for this Sunday’s Hell In A Cell pay-per-view. Triple H then discusses the special referee for the WWE Championship match, and says that he respects Shawn Michaels. The Big Show appears on the big screen and interrupts Triple H, saying that Triple H doesn’t respect anything. Triple H calls Show a loser who has no money and no job, but The Big Show fires back at him. Show says he is suing them for the millions of dollars that he has left on his contract. Stephanie interrupts and says that’s enough, and has Big Show removed from the big screen. Triple H says that the show must go on, and introduces Shield member Dean Ambrose who will be wrestling next. However, Daniel Bryan’s music hits instead and he makes his way down, to the disgust of Triple H and Stephanie. Bryan will face Ambrose after the commercial break.
Singles Match
Daniel Bryan defeated Dean Ambrose by submission with the Yes Lock.
In Ring Segment
CM Punk is out at the top of the ramp with a mic, to discuss his Handicap Match inside the Hell In A Cell this Sunday. Punk says his plan is to put Ryback to sleep, so he is able to get his hands on Paul Heyman, and “smash his face” all over the Hell In A Cell.
Backstage Segment
Triple H and Stephanie are in the back telling Vickie to not screw up tonight. She’s in charge of the show in Brad Maddox’s absence due to the concussion he suffered Friday on SmackDown.
The couple walk into their office where Shawn Michaels is waiting for them. HBK sticks up for Daniel Bryan, and tells Triple H that they used to say the same thing about him and how he could never be the WWE Champion. Michaels then tells Stephanie that he and Triple H used to do the same things to Vince McMahon that The Big Show is doing now to them, and she used to think it was funny. She says its different, and that The Big Show has been fired. Stephanie goes on to say that things are different around here now, and Shawn says that he is the only one who hasn’t had to grow up. He exits the office and tells them he’s going to go have some fun.
Santino Marella makes his way to the ring dressed as Elvis along with the Great Khali and Hornswaggle. Santino’s match is next.
Singles Match
Santino Marella (w/The Great Khali & Hornswaggle) defeated Heath Slater (w/Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal) by pin fall with the “King” Cobra. After the match, Santino grabs a mic and tells the crowd there is only one king from Memphis… Jerry “The King” Lawler. They both stand on the announce table and dance like Elvis.
Singles Match
Randy Orton defeated Dolph Ziggler by pin fall with the RKO.
After the match, a video of John Cena rehabbing from his tricep surgery is shown.
Divas Tag Team Match
The Bella Twins (Brie & Nikki) defeated AJ Lee & Tamina Snuka by pin fall.
After the match, “30 Second Fury” video of Alberto Del Rio’s Cross Arm Breaker is shown.
Backstage Segment
Renee Young interviews Paul Heyman, Ryback and Curtis Axel. Heyman hypes the HIAC match against CM Punk this Sunday. Heyman is the master on the mic, and gave an emotional promo. Big E. Langston interrupts and a match between him and Curtis Axel is made for later in RAW.
A video of Daniel Bryan’s training and rise through Shawn Michaels’ Texas Wrestling Academy is shown, including footage of his early matches when Bryan was only 19 years old.
Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family are here, and are in action after the commercial break.
Tag Team Match
The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper & Eric Rowan) (w/Bray Wyatt) defeated The Miz & Kofi Kingston by pin fall. After the match, Rowen and Harper continue their attack on Kingston and Miz. Bray gets in the ring, and cuts a promo while The Miz is tied up in the ring ropes.
Singles Match
Curtis Axel (w/Paul Heyman & Ryback) vs Big E. Langston never gets underway, Langston gets attacked by both Ryback and Axel before the bell rings. Langston holds his own, but eventually gets laid out by Ryback on the outside. CM Punk makes his way down to the ring with a kendo stick to even up the odds. Vickie Guerrero comes out to make this a tag team match.
Tag Team Match
CM Punk & Big E. Langston defeated Curtis Axel & Ryback (w/Paul Heyman) by pin fall with the Big Ending.
Tag Team Match
The Real Americans (Jack Swagger & Antonio Cesaro) (w/Zeb Colter on commentary) defeated Tons Of Funk (w/Naomi and Cameron) by submission with the Patriot Act. After the match, Colter unveils his newest friend to help him fend off El Torito… a bull whip.
Tag Team Match–Winners Earn Tag Team Championship Match At Hell In A Cell
The Shield (Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins) (w/Dean Ambrose) vs The Usos (Jimmy & Jey) ends in a No Contest? The ending saw Dean Ambrose go over to the announce table where Cody Rhodes and Goldust were. They begin to fight on the outside, Seth Rollins came to help Ambrose, then the Usos got involved also. The Shield retreat back through the crowd.
After the break, Vickie Guerrero has made the WWE Tag Team Championship Match at HIAC a triple threat match between The Rhodes’, The Shield and The Usos.
WWE Championship Contract Signing
Triple H and Stephanie are in the ring when Justin Roberts first introduces Randy Orton, followed by Daniel Bryan. Triple H then introduces the special referee, his best friend, Shawn Michaels, and all the participants are in the ring. Randy Orton tells Daniel Bryan that this Sunday will be his first HIAC match, and after Orton gets done with Bryan, his last HIAC match. He signs the contract, and passes it over to Daniel Bryan. Bryan says he has “two words for you,” but it’s not suck it, it’s “thank you.” He thanks Orton for motivating him and bringing the best out of him, and signs the contract. Triple H now has his turn, and he tells Bryan that he’s seen guys like him come and go, guys that became popular with the fans like Jericho, Edge and RVD. He’s not impressed with them or with Bryan. Daniel tells Triple H to switch the suit for wrestling gear, so he can get in the ring with him. Triple H says that if he were to wrestle, it would be against a top star like The Rock or Brock Lesnar, not him. Triple H then says that Shawn Michaels wasted his time training him, which gets HBK angry. Michaels tries to understand what Triple H has against Bryan, he asks him what has happened to you, and brings up his days in DX. Orton tells Triple H that Michaels has an agenda against him, but Triple H assures him that Shawn will do what’s best for business. Bryan and Orton get set to square off when we’re shown live footage of Big Show driving a truck to ringside. Show gets out of the truck, and begins doing the Yes chants, which distracts Orton and enables Bryan to attack Orton. Raw ends with Daniel Bryan leading the crowd in his Yes chants.
