After the internet exploded in shock and horror Monday night over the apparent closure of FCW and then WWE categorically denying this on Tuesday, it seems as if one element of the original report was correct after all.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that sources close to the company have confirmed that WWE are indeed looking to open a developmental system in Stamford, so the talent can be tracked easier by the top executives.
The idea for this would be that a number of wrestlers already working for WWE would work with the talent in this system and prepare them for their eventual appearance on WWE TV.
Furthermore, WWE officials were said it be livid at reports that FCW was being shut down which prompted Triple H to comment on the situation via WWE.com.
