WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i, best known for his work as part of The Wild Samoans tag team alongside Sika, has passed away at the age of 81, with the announcement made by the Anoa’i family.

Anoa’i, who began his in-ring career back in 1971, won several titles in his career, including the WWF World Tag Team Championships on three occasions, the NWA World Tag Team Championships on two occassions, the NWA National Tag Team Championships on one occasion, the NWA World Tag Team Championships on one occasion and more, while The Wild Samoans were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

In addition to his wrestling career, Anoa’i also made several acting appearances, including appearing as a Henchman in an episode of Miami Vice in 1987 and his role in Mr. Nanny which was released in 1993. Anoa’i was also credited as the wrestling trainer for Darren Aronofsky’s 2008 movie, The Wrestler.
