According to a report from The Miami Herald, WWE have finally struck a deal with Ene Watts, the ex-wife of Bill Watts, to acquire the Mid-South tape library, which will see the company take possession of approximately 1,200 hours of Mid-South footage from the late 1970’s and 1980’s.
Speaking to The Miami Herald, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross noted that he hopes to see the footage become weekly episodic content to show the younger fans the week-to-week booking that made Mid-South so successful during the eras of territorial booking. Ross is quoted as saying, “If fans are able to somewhere down the road buy volumes where they can see X number of weeks of television or by the year where there’s X number of episodes on a multi-disc set, they’re going to see how it was like reading an action adventure book. One chapter led to the next chapter led to the next with a crescendo and then a payoff, and then the book continues.”
