In a surprising move out of the WWE earlier in the week, the company let Jim Connelly, Florence DiGiorgio and Dean Miller go, this according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Connelly had been with the WWE since early 1999 when he left as Managing Director of NFL Europe and Senior Vice President of Consumer Products for the NFL to take up a role with the WWE. At the time he was considered as a major pick-up when he joined the company to oversee Global Licensing, Home Entertainment and Book and Magazine Publishing.
In a strange bit of news, the report notes that several WWE personnel attented Mattel’s display at the New York Toy Fair last week and those within the company’s consumer products division did their best to awkwardly dance around questions on who to contact in regards to potential licensing deals as the company are reorganizing that department.
