World Wrestling Entertainment recently closed on a deal to acquire the video library for the World Wrestling Council promotion out of Puerto Rico owned by Victor Jovia and WWE Hall of Famer Carlos Colon, according to a report from PWInsider.com.
The report notes that WWE has already had the library shipped to their headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut and that they will be working on preparing it for future usage on the WWE Network, DVD’s and more, but that there is no timetable as of now as to when any of that material may pop up under WWE’s auspices as they need to clean up, as well as digitize the footage.
The report further states that there is a portion of the tape library that was impacted by the effects of Hurricane Maria that knocked out all power on the island and that WWE were aware of the issues when they made the decision acquire the library.
