WWE sent out the following:
WWE Superstar Big Show to attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con on Saturday, May 31
NEW YORK — The inaugural Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con just got a lot “bigger” as The World’s Largest Athlete, WWE Superstar Big Show, will attend Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con on Saturday, May 31, at the Georgia World Congress Center. It will mark the first Wizard World appearance for the 7-foot-tall, 441-pound, larger-than-life WWE Superstar who will sign autographs and pose for photo ops from 12:30-2:45pm and will participate in a Q&A session from 3:00-3:30pm as announced today by Wizard World, Inc.
Big Show’s appearance in Atlanta follows those of other WWE Superstars and Divas at recent Wizard World Comic Cons, including Sheamus, Randy Orton, John Cena, AJ Lee and others.
“I have heard all the great things other WWE Superstars have said about Wizard World, and I can’t wait to meet the WWE Universe at the inaugural Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con,” said Big Show.
“WWE Superstar Big Show is a giant superhero for so many kids across several generations of fans,” said John Macaluso, Wizard World CEO. “He is a giant of a man, with a giant fanbase to match, and we are thrilled to have him for the first time ever at our Atlanta event.”
Reminiscent of such Goliaths as Andre the Giant and Big John Studd, Big Show is a feared competitor who intimidates opponents with his size and stare alone. The World’s Largest Athlete’s measurements are astounding: he wears a 22 EEEEE size shoe and boasts a 64-inch chest. The man from Aiken, South Carolina, who was discovered at a charity basketball game by Hulk Hogan, has met some of the biggest stars in sports face-to-face in the middle of a WWE ring. He has even taken on boxing champ Floyd Mayweather and NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal to the delight of millions of fans around the world.
The World’s Largest Athlete is also no stranger to film and television roles. His film credits include 2010’s starring role as Walter Krunk in the WWE Studios family comedy Knucklehead alongside an all-star cast, including Mark Feuerstein (“Royal Pains”), Melora Hardin (“The Office”), Dennis Farina (“Law & Order”) and Wendie Malick (“Just Shoot Me!”). He has also appeared in the feature films “MacGruber,” “Jingle All the Way,” “Reggie’s Prayer,” “Little Hercules in 3-D” and “Waterboy.” In addition, Big Show has guest-starred on popular television shows, including USA Network’s “Burn Notice,” Nickelodeon’s “Supah Ninjas,” “Brain Surge,” “Saturday Night Live” and “Star Trek: Enterprise.”
Big Show joins such noted pop culture figures as Nathan Fillion (“Castle,” “Serenity”), Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Jon Bernthal and Michael Rooker of “The Walking Dead,” James Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Torchwood”), Milo Ventimiglia (“Heroes,” “Rocky Balboa”) and many others at Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con, set for May 30 through June 1.
It is the seventh of 16 events scheduled in the 2014 series produced by Wizard World, Inc., and will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known comic artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions. Wizard World Atlanta Comic Con show hours are Friday, May 30, 3-8 p.m.; Saturday, May 31, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, June 1, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
