In an interview with What Culture at the WWE UK Championship Tournament press conference, WWE NXT General Manager William Regal was asked about the future of the title after the show and noted that there is going to be a Champion and the wrestler who wins it will be the first-ever and that WWE will then see where it goes from there and said that he is one of the two or three people who know who the Champion will be and that it is a very exciting time for the WWE.

Regal was then asked about the restrictions on the 16 wrestlers in the tournament working with other companies and noted that there is zero restriction on them working anywhere, except for companies who will not let wrestlers work for WWE and noted that they are free agents, just as long as WWE needs them for certain dates, of which they will give those wrestlers plenty of notice for and said that this is not the Big Bad Wolf coming in to try and take everything away from anybody and that this is to give the wrestlers some extra money in their pockets.
