With many professional wrestling fans questioning the reasoning behind the departure of Vince Russo from TNA Wrestling leading to Dave Lagana stepping into a temporary role on a temporary basis, a report from Jason Powell of ProWrestling.Net notes that Lagana has been working with the creative team again this week and that Lagana, Matt Conway, Bruce Prichard and Eric Bischoff are handling the majority of creative matters and while Prichard remains the head of the creative team, Eric Bischoff is still executive producer for the company and Hulk Hogan has creative control over his own character and various topics in the company
Powell notes that there’s no word as to whether Lagana or Conway are physically writing for creative like Russo and that Russo left the company despite being under contract until the end of the year. Russo became frustrated by his lack of power in terms of writing content for TNA Impact Wrestling and decided to leave, which also prompted his son, working in production for TNA Wrestling to also leave the company. Russo will continue to be paid until his contract expires.
Powell continues to state that there was a lot of frustration amongst several TNA Wrestling staff members and several of the wrestlers as TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter didn’t hold a meeting to address the situation, something that she oftens does when issues like this arise and that they didn’t know and weren’t made aware of the release of Russo from the company until she made it public on her Twitter account.
