In an update on WWE’s tryout camp at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida earlier this week, a report from The Wrestling Observer notes that two sessions were held by the WWE on Wednesday and that a long session was held on Thursday with Bill DeMott running the camp and Joey Mercury, Norman Smiley, Terry Taylor, Gerald Brisco and William Regal overseeing the rest of the camp.
The report notes that 30 wrestlers were brought in for the camp in total and that Ring of Honor duo Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards stood out ahead of everyone and done a lot to impress WWE officials. Both Edwards and Richards are no longer under official contracts with Ring of Honor.
There was talk that those attending the camp won’t receive a contract offer for the next 6-8 weeks. If Richards is signed to a developmental deal with the WWE, his last Ring of Honor appearance could come during the ROH Death Before Dishonor XI weekend later this month, where he is scheduled to face off against Ricky Marvin.
