In an update on TNA Wrestling announcing the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas as the location of the 2013 TNA LockDown pay-per-view, there is a feeling amongst many in the company that TNA officials will reach out to AAA officials in Mexico to work together and help generate interest and sell tickets to the San Antonio market for the pay-per-view.
WWE used this route back in 1997 for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, which featured names such as Perro Aguayo Jr, Venum, Maniaco, Mosco de la Merced, Octagon, Blue Demon Jr, Tinieblas Jr, Heavy Metal, Abismo Negro, Histeria, Mascarita Sagrada, La Parkita, Hector Garza, Perro Aguayo Sr, El Canek, Jerry Estrada, Fuerza Guerrera, Pierroth, Cibernetico and Mil Mascaras appearing at the event.
The 1997 WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view still holds the record attendance for wrestling at the Alamodome and the record WWE Royal Rumble attendance of 60,525, however it is expected that TNA will be setting up the arena for approximately 7,000 on the night of the 2013 TNA LockDown pay-per-view.
