In an update on the reports earlier this week from The Hollywood Reporter that WWE SmackDown Live will not be renewed by NBC Universal and will go on the open market, a report from Variety notes that the front runners to acquire the broadcast rights are FOX, Amazon and Facebook.
NBC Universal are believed to be paying WWE close to three times the current rate to retain Monday Night RAW, allowing SmackDown Live to go out on the open market, as mentioned above, to the highest bidder.
