In an update on the trial of Luc Vu regarding the death of indpendent wrestler Matt Travis (real name Matt Palacios), due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, the trial before the New York Criminal Court has been pushed back until Monday, July 20th, according to a report from PWInsider.com.
For those unfamiliar with the story, Vu has been charged with reckless driving, failure to yield to a bicyclist, failure to obey a traffic device, driving left of pavement marking and failure to exercise due care, which led to Travis’ death. Travis was struck while travelling on a bike path in East Harlem around 2:30am on Saturday November 9th, 2019 when a dump truck driver made an illegal left u-turn to get on to the Willis Avenue Bridge. Travis was struck and despite being rushed to the hospital, suffered serious trauma and was pronounced dead when he arrived.
It is not clear as to whether Vu was aware that he struck 25-year-old Travis, who was returning home from professional wrestling training at the time.
