In an update on WWE RAW superstar Sami Zayn not appearing at yesterday’s WWE Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this is due to Sami being of Syrian descent and Saudi Arabia and Syria cutting off relations back in 2012.

While Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens teased that they would win the match on Monday’s edition of WWE RAW, a later segment in the show revealed Zayn to “not be feeling well”, which ultimately ended up in him being pulled from the show.

WWE issued a statement regarding Sami Zayn’s absence stating, “WWE is committed to embracing individuals from all backgrounds while respecting local customs and cultural differences around the world.”
