In an update on WWE RAW General Manager Kurt Angle being cleared to make his in-ring return at last night’s WWE: Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view, a report from PWInsider.com notes that the idea for Angle to compete was a Vince McMahon idea that was first proposed internally on Thursday when the company realized that Roman Reigns would not be able to compete due to illness.
The report notes that while Angle had been previously medically checked out by the WWE when he was brought back to the company, Angle was given a physical examination on Friday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to ensure that he was medically able to compete at the pay-per-view and as soon as Kurt was given the green light, that is when WWE made the official announcement.
The report also states that as of last night, Kurt’s in-ring return was just a one-time attraction, but with him being medically cleared, it now opens the door him going forward.
