In an update on Katsuyori Shibata appearing on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite to challenge Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship on this Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage, Shibata’s appearance was based off a recent request that he had made, according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.

The report notes that Shibata informed All Elite Wrestling that he had two matches that he wanted in the company, one against Orange Cassidy and the other against Bryan Danielson, with the company working on making both of those matches happen starting with this Friday’s AEW Rampage episode.
