In an update on WWE RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and WWE SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan appearing at last night’s WWE NXT Takeover: Brooklyn live special, the two were there to scout talent for their respective brands as WWE will begin another Superstar Shakeup after tonight’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, with the idea to shakeup the roster twice per year instead of one WWE Draft.
As noted previously, John Cena will be moving to RAW after tonight’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view, as Cena is only advertised for WWE RAW branded events and pay-per-views going forward, with the exception being the WWE live event in Shenzhen, China on September 17th with the SmackDown Live brand.
The company recently signed former WWE Intercontinental Champion Shelton Benjamin, who is expected to return soon as part of the SmackDown Live brand, while former WWE NXT Champion Bobby Roode is also expected to come to the main roster imminently following his loss to Drew McIntyre at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. WWE officials are said to be high on Roode and the feeling is that he will debut as part of the RAW brand.
Other names being considered for potential call-ups include Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, No Way Jose, Hideo Itami, Ember Moon, Johnny Gargano and The Authors of Pain.
