New Japan Pro Wrestling have announced that Trent Beretta, who was originally scheduled to team with Kazuchika Okada against the team of Jay White and Hikuleo as part of tonight’s NJPW Capital Collision event, has tested positive for COVID-19 and as a result has been pulled from appearing at the event.
The NJPW announcement reads, “Trent Beretta, who was scheduled to team with Kazuchika Okada against Jay White and Hikuleo at Capital Collision, has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to compete on the card May 14. We deeply apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Beretta wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.”
As a result of Beretta being pulled from the event, the originally planned Trent Beretta & Kazuchika Okada vs. Jay White & Hikuleo match will now see Rocky Romero team with Okada for the match. With Romero announced as the replacement, The DKC will be stepping into his place for a 10 Man Tag Team Match, teaming with Fred Rosser, David Finlay, Tanga Loa and Yuya Uemura against Team Filthy (‘Filthy’ Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos, Royce Isaacs, Jorel Nelson and Danny Limelight).
Finally, the match between The DKC and Kevin Knight on the pre-show for the live audience has been changed to Nick Comoroto facing off against Kevin Knight prior to the main card getting underway.
