Tonight’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view in Richmond, Virginia may be without one match on the card, as WWE SmackDown superstar Randy Orton will not be competing at tonight’s event, despite being scheduled to face off against Bray Wyatt at the event.
Orton has yet to be cleared by WWE to compete in the ring after the TKO finish of the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view against Brock Lesnar, with WWE hoping that he would be cleared this past week, however that did not happen, with the issue believed to be concussion-related, meaning that Orton has not yet passed an iMPACT test.
It will be interesting to see how WWE will handle this situation in terms of storylines going forward, as well as whether the planned Orton vs. Lesnar rematch at the WWE live event on September 24th in Chicago, Illinois will go ahead.
For those wondering, Orton is backstage at the event.
