In an interview with Busted Open Satellite Radio, former WWE superstar Chris Nowinski noted that WWE SmackDown superstar Randy Orton has been advocating the WWE in recent months for time off from the company to heal from his injuries, specifically bumps around the head, after Orton has become more aware after learning about concussions.
Nowinski noted that wrestlers requesting time off for concussions were viewed as soft manner in the WWE during his time there, however Orton is helping to change the culture of the business. Nowinski stated that a guy like Randy Orton just didn’t buy into it, however after running into him in March 2011, he started talking about his concussion experiences and was talking like he didn’t know it was that bad and that he is now an advocate for himself to take time off and it’s interesting to see what happens.
