At last night’s WWE SmackDown tapings at the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, WWE SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long announced that Cody Rhodes will defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against The Big Show at WrestleMania XXVIII on April 1st, 2012.

The Big Show was originally pencilled in to face off NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal, however WWE sent out word earlier in the month stating that the match was not going to happen. Shaq however has been stating in recent interviews that he will be appearing at the event, but with WWE’s announcement, it appears that his match with Show has been scratched.
