Scottish Wrestling Entertainment announced on their official Facebook page that WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk has had to pull out of the company’s “Hell For Lycra XI” event on August 30th at the Bonar Hall in Dundee, Scotland.
The full statement reads:
Good Evening SWE Facebook fans, it is with much regret that we write to inform you that Terry Funk has had to postpone his visit with us this year to Hell For Lycra. He has just emailed us with the following.
Dear David, I am so sorry to have to let you down after you and SWE promoting my appearance, I have never done anything like this and I am truly sorry for letting you all down. I was working on a huge TV deal before you contacted me and they have just came back to me. It has taken years to get this deal as its about Texas and the ranch, its a once in a lifetime deal that I cannot pass on. I have aleady booked you in for next year and God willing, I will be in Scotland with SWE to see all the great fans. Once again I’m sorry.
Terry
SWE followed up with the following:
Most wrestling events and cards are subject to change and we have always delivered when we have promoted someone, from Ted DiBiase to DDP and from Bret Hart to Virgil. Once again, we apologise. This event will still be awesome as usual. We will announce our next guests this Friday. We also have some huge news regarding an upcoming event and we hope it makes up for Terry not making the trip this year.
