Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali made a surprise appearance during the Punjabi Prison match at tonight’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view. Khali appeared to help Jinder Mahal retain his WWE Championship during his match against Randy Orton.

WWE announced during last night’s edition of Monday Night RAW that the 2017 WWE Battleground pay-per-view will take place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Sunday, July 23rd. There will be an online pre-sale on Ticketmaster utilizing the code WWEPhilly.

According to WWE’s latest Key Performance Indicators, the 2015 WWE Battleground pay-per-view drew 76,000 traditional pay-per-view buys, 24,000 of those buys coming domestically and the remaining 52,000 buys coming internationally. Brie Bella vs. Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks has been added to tonight’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view. The announcement is expected to be made on the WWE Battleground pre-show on the WWE Network.

Former WCW Champion Sting is scheduled for tonight’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view according to a report from F4WOnline.com. The report notes that outside interference is likely in the Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt match and there have been plans for Luke Harper to get involved, only for Sting to make the save for Roman Reigns.

Becky Lynch, Charlotte and WWE NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks were all brought into St. Louis for tonight’s WWE Battleground pay-per-view according to a report from PWInsider, so it appears that they could be involved in a segment on the show.
