All Elite Wrestling star Eddie Kingston is expected to undergo surgery on Monday, July 8th to address the ACL tear and meniscus tear that he suffered during his match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence earlier this month, according to a report from PWInsider.com. Kingston is expected to be out until around May 2025 post-surgery.

In an update on Eddie Kingston’s recent injury, a report from PWInsider notes that after meeting with surgeons, Kingston has learned that he will not be able to get the surgery that he needs until July at the earliest, which will push back his timeline for an in-ring return to around May 2025. New Japan Pro Wrestling crowned a new NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion as part of Saturday’s NJPW Resurgence event at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California as Gabe Kidd defeated Eddie Kingston to become the new Champion. Gabe Kidd’s victory brings an end to Eddie Kingston’s 311-day reign as the Champion.
