AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland took part in the post-AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call on Sunday night and discussed several topics, including retaining his title against Will Ospreay at the event, what he told Ospreay post-match and more.

Strickland stated that following the pay-per-view, he felt like he had silenced a lot of critics, but that he will still probably have to silence more in the future.

Strickland said that what he told Will Ospreay post-match basically boiled down to him telling Ospreay that he loved him, that Ospreay was one of the best talents in the world, and that he hopes that they could do it again. Strickland also put over Albert Gentilly for bringing in names like Rick Ross, Kevin Gates, Jim Jones and Fabulous and that his team is what makes him who he is, including his association with Prince Nana.

Swerve said that it is gratifying to have a Black World Champion main eventing shows like Forbidden and that he does not take it for granted.
