MARVEL’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which opened over the weekend is performing strongly at the box office with the film taking in $37.8 million as of writing, with $11.2m of that coming from previews alone.

The movie is on its way to being the strongest debut of all-time and is expected to beat “The Bourne Ultimatum” which took in $69.3 million during its opening weekend back in 2007.

For those that missed the announcement, MARVEL also revealed plans for a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie, scheduled for release in 2017.
