In an update on Sting possibly joining the WWE, there are many within the company who have believed for months that 2014 would be the year that they would sign the former WCW World Champion and that talk has once again become one of the top topics within the company as his contract has come to an end, according to a report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The report notes that the WWE waited for Sting to work out his remaining dates on his TNA contract before deciding to negotiate with “The Icon”. Many within the company expect him to have some involement with the WWE going forward due to how he could be a main part of luring former viewers back to the company when the WWE Network launches in February.
