In an interview on The Wrestling Compadres Slamcast on Nerdist.com, Stephanie McMahon commented on why the WWE decided to do away with the WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and replace it with WWE Fast Lane.

Stephanie said that the company will still deliver with WWE Fast Lane, but that the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was dropped, mostly due to the logistics of hanging the Chamber which weighs more than 10 tons and that many arenas now feature large scoreboards above the ring and would face issues with being able to hang the Chamber in certain buildings.
