It was announced during the taping of WWE SmackDown last night, that Booker T is making the Elimination Chamber match at the pay-per-view, a #1 contenders match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The winner will earn a title shot at this year’s WrestleMania in New York.
It hasn’t been determined who officially is in the match, but at the time of the announcement, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler, and The Great Kahli were all in the ring. Also, former WHC Jack Swagger returned last night, to interrupt the segment and throw his name in for consideration.
With the WWE Championship between the The Rock and CM Punk set to take place at the PPV, as a regular singles match, and the announcement of this #1 contenders match for the WHC, neither title will be on the line inside of the Elimination Chamber. WWE normally puts both titles on the line in the Elimination Chamber for this PPV; it is interesting to see that they are moving in a different direction this year.
