In a recent interview with Peter Rosenberg as part of the Cheap Heat Podcast, WWE SmackDown superstar Solo Sikoa discussed several topics, including his call-up from WWE NXT to the company’s main roster, his debut at WWE Clash at the Castle and more.
Highlights of the interview are below:
On his debut in Cardiff and meeting Triple H: “Going to Cardiff, that was my first time meeting him. At the time, he was down at NXT, and when he signs new people to NXT, he will take a picture with them. A week before, we were getting ready to take a picture and he had some differences and something had happened. Cardiff was my first time meeting him, he brought me into his office and was like hey man, welcome to Cardiff, you know this is your call up right and I was like nah I didn’t and he said yeah, this is your call up to SmackDown, welcome, do you know what you’re doing today and I was like nah man, I don’t and he said okay, we’ll go over it with Roman. He’ll talk to me every time after the match and give me advice, I’m really happy I got the chance to meet him.”
On whether Roman Reigns gave him any advice before his main roster debut: “He just said be there, be there on the timing, if you don’t do this tonight in the match, it’s not going to work. Nobody noticed that I was there in Cardiff, none of the boys noticed, only certain people. Nobody saw me go out there under the ring, everybody first saw me when I first came back after the spot. I remember that day, we were sitting in the locker room quiet, I was watching him get ready for the match, I didn’t want to say anything, because he was in his zone, I was in my zone, I know what I needed to do, he knew what he needed to do. I just need you to be here, I need you to execute this at this time and I did, it blew the roof off the place.”
