WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels was the latest guest on Vince Russo’s podcast on PodcastOne and talked with working with Russo in the late 90’s amongst a slew of other topics. Michaels noted that he does not keep up with the current WWE product and knows what is going on because of what he reads from fans on Twitter, however, other than that, he is not immersed in the product like he used to be.

In regards to fans complaining about the product on the internet, Michaels said that he gets what those hardcore fans say and they don’t like it, but noted at the same time, he’s going to get a ton of heat from fans for what he will say, but they do keep watching and that while the ratings may go down, they’re not losing those fans.

Michaels also went into detail on what led up to his appearance at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas and said that Vince McMahon called him about 6 weeks before the show and told him that he wanted him in his gear, so Shawn made sure to get in shape and it turned out that he was the only one in full gear. Shawn credited his wife for helping him get on a proper diet and for helping him to get in the best shape that he has been in years. Shawn also made it clear that he does not want to wrestle another match and said that everybody asks him if he misses wrestling and said that he doesn’t, because what is on TV now isn’t what he used to do, so it’s easy not to miss.
