The Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion in Mexico crowned a new NWA Historic Welterweight Champion during their Viernes Espectacular event on Friday night as Rocky Romero defeated Volador Jr. to become the new Champion.

Romero’s victory brings an end to Volador Jr.’s 1,631 day reign as Champion.
