Current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Cody Rhodes, is featured in an interview with the New York Daily News, where he discusses the importance of WWE’s annual Tribute to the Troops event and how it is viewed in essence as a more important event than WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the year, WrestleMania.
Cody noted that what the WWE do is what the Armed Forces fight for and that as a professional wrestler, you work all year to be on the WrestleMania card, however the WWE Tribute to the Troops event sneaks up on you, but when you get to competing at the WWE Tribute to the Troops event, you soon realise that the event itself is actually even more important than WrestleMania, because the event is for the troops and it’s real.
