With the WWE pulling in a 2.7 rating for this past Monday’s RAW which was viewed by under 4 million viewers, the lowest rating of the year, the news put WWE into a bit of nervousness regarding the low rating, this according to a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Many of those within the company feel that the show was hurt by the debut of the History Channel’s Hatfields and McCoys show, the NBA playoffs, Memorial Day and the fact that John Cena was not present on the show.
With WWE’s focus on trying to deliver strong ratings ahead of the show going 3 hours on July 23rd, the company were worried that CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan lost viewers in hour two, while Santino Marella vs. Alberto del Rio took in the lowest quarter hour rating in years.
WWE are said to be looking at how the ratings will go for this week’s episode before even considering some changes to the show.
