Despite many within the company feeling that CM Punk would take on Chris Jericho and that The Undertaker would once again take on Triple H, as matches behind the main event of John Cena and The Rock, a report from Justin LaBar of WrestleZone notes that new talk has surfaced within the company regarding plans for the WrestleMania 28 pay-per-view.

The report notes that contrary to what many believe, discussions are being held about making The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho, as well as CM Punk vs. Triple H as the two big matches at this year’s pay-per-view instead of what has been expected, as WWE became aware of online reports with fans expecting the tentative plans for the event and although those plans haven’t been scrapped, the discussion has been made to shake-up the event.

With the Royal Rumble pay-per-view proving to be one of the most draining weeks of the wrestling year for those in the WWE outside of the WrestleMania weekend, plans are going to change left, right and center, including the above matches. Many within the company feel that there could have been more done in the past between CM Punk and Triple H, which played out with Triple H taking on Kevin Nash, however the thought of Chris Jericho and The Undertaker would provide a fresh WrestleMania match for The Undertaker, instead of facing Triple H for the second time in a row and the third time at a WrestleMania event.

While plans following the Royal Rumble pay-per-view should become clearer and although nothing of the above is confirmed 100%, it should be interesting to note that Triple H is scheduled to appear on Monday’s RAW following the Royal Rumble to conduct a job evaluation on John Laurinaitis pending on Laurinaitis attacking Mick Foley and his open admittance to actually screwing over CM Punk at Sunday’s Royal Rumble event where he defends his title against Dolph Ziggler.
