Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez received approval to work the Lucha Libre AAA event in Tempe, Arizona on December 3rd at a hearing in Santa Clara County, California today, according to a report from MMA Junkie.
The report notes that as part of the ruling, Velasquez has been granted permission to travel to Arizona for the event, his house confinement restriction will be temporarily lifted and he will not have to be monitored by GPS during the event, but will have to hire a police officer to be with him from December 1st to December 4th, which is the duration of his trip.
The event on December 3rd in Tempe, Arizona is a meaningful event for Velasquez as Arizona State’s Mullett Arena is the venue where the show will be taking place, with Velasquez a two-time All-American wrestler at Arizona State.
