In what is no doubt a huge move for the WWE and their plans for next year at WrestleMania 29, a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com notes that former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar is in discussions with the company about appearing at this year’s WrestleMania 28 pay-per-view, with the odds at just more than 50/50. The WWE have been working closely and hard behind the scenes about having Lesnar appear on Sunday, which could add to the reports that Lesnar could face off against either The Rock or The Undertaker at next year’s WrestleMania event.

“The Next Big Thing” stepped away from the business in 2004 following his match at WrestleMania 20 against Bill Goldberg and headed to the UFC where he held the UFC Heavyweight Champion, losing it to Cain Velasquez. Following his fight against Alistair Overeem on December 30th, Lesnar announced his intentions to retire from mixed martial arts, which prompted many to believe that he would appear at WrestleMania.

The WWE have also been in talks as they consider announcing a WrestleMania 29 match on the first edition of RAW following WrestleMania 28, so it’ll be interesting to see if Lesnar is part of those plans.
