WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee is reported to have been involved in a backstage incident with NBC’s Michelle Beadle at last Wednesday’s WWE Tribute to the Troops taping with Lee becoming enraged over an interaction between Beadle and Lee’s boyfriend and WWE superstar CM Punk, this according to a report from Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.

Speaking through her official Twitter account, Beadle, who was at the taping on behalf of NBC appeared to make reference to the incident:

There is a belief that AJ was said to be kayfabing Beadle, however WWE officials were enraged by her actions and pulled AJ Lee to the side in front of others and it is believed that she will be disciplined for her actions. The report notes that CM Punk believes that AJ Lee shouldn’t be punished for her actions for staying in character in her workplace and playing her character to others. It will be interesting to see if the fallout has any effect on the outcome of the WWE Divas Championship match at tonight’s WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view.
