Global Force Wrestling, under the ownership of Anthem Media, are said to be hemorrhaging funds, with sources close to the situation stating that they are ready to withdraw from the business and are considering selling Global Force Wrestling, according to a report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated.
While not much was reported at the time, there were a few cutbacks made with a number of talents not been brought in for the recent set of television tapings, while others were only used for certain tapings before returning home, as opposed to remaining in the area for the entire block of tapings during the week.
If Anthem, who are the parent company of The Fight Network, which airs pro wrestling programming beyond Global Force Wrestling regularly, are considering selling the company, it will be interesting to see if any former parties who were interested in the past will renew that interest, as prior to Anthem Media taking ownership of the company from Dixie Carter and IMPACT Ventures LLC, names including World Wrestling Entertainment, Sinclair Broadcasting Group (ROH’s parent company) and Billy Corgan were all reported to have considered acquiring the company, with WWE majorly interested in acquiring the library to put to use for current talents that used to wrestle in the company. Anthem has begun putting much of that library to use since they acquired it.
