WWE Superstar The Miz is joining forces with The Ad Council and the Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s GED Achievement campaign to encourage young adults without a high school education to get their GED and give them the information to get started down that path.
The Awesome One will be appearing in public service announcements in print, on TV and radio and online for the campaign, along with celebrities like Christopher Lloyd (“Back to the Future”), Jerry Stiller (“Seinfeld”) and Jamie-Lynn Sigler (“The Sopranos”).
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 34.6 million adults ages 18 and above do not have a high school diploma. The campaign aims to motivate adults to go after their GED by showing them the process in six simple steps. They can also call 877-38-YOURGED toll-free, or visit www.YourGED.org to find the nearest testing and test prep centers.
The PSAs will be distributed this week and run during advertising time donated by the media, and can also be seen at www.YourGED.org.
