It is with deep sadness to announce that Mexican wrestling star Perro Aguayo Jr (Pedro Aguayo Ramírez), the son of Lucha Libre legend Perro Aguayo, passed away last night aged 35 during a tag team match for the Mexican independent wrestling promotion CRASH in Tijuana, Mexico where he teamed with TNA Wrestling star Manik against Rey Mysterio and TNA Wrestling star Tigre Uno, with his death said to be from cervical spine trauma caused during the match.

In a video posted online, Aguayo is seen to get hit with a missile dropkick and a headscissors from Rey Mysterio that sends him to the outside, with the belief that landing on the outside from the headscissors is what led to the cervical spine trauma and that getting back in and taking the dropkick to the shoulders from Mysterio to set up the 619 is what led to him worsening his injury unknown to himself. Mysterio is shown going for the double 619 on Manik and Aguayo, only for Manik to escape and Aguayo to stay in position on the ropes as everyone starts to work on the fly. Konnan, who was out there at ringside with Manik and Aguayo is seen checking on him, followed by Rey Mysterio checking on him before quickly pinning Manik with a top rope splash. Konnan is then shown telling the referee that something isn’t right with Aguayo as EMT’s rushed the ring to work on him. EMT’s rushed Aguayo to a local hospital after working on him, but were told that nothing more could be done and that he had passed away in the hospital.

Aguayo Jr had been wrestling since he was 15 years old, competing for both AAA and CMLL and was part of Rey Mysterio’s first match back in AAA in the main event of the March 18th Rey de Reyes iPPV at the Auditorio Benito Juarez de Zapopan where he teamed with Pentagon Jr against Mysterio and Myzteziz (the original Sin Cara).

Speaking through their respective accounts, AAA, CMLL and TNA Wrestling superstar Manik all commented on the situation, offering their condolences.

AAA: “The grief overwhelms our hearts again. Rest in peace, Son of Perro Aguayo.”

Joaquin Roldan, the co-owner of AAA: “I have no words to this terrible news, my deepest condolences to the family Ramirez Aguayo, rest in peace ‘El Hijo del Perro Aguayo'”

Dorian Roldan Pena, the co-owner of AAA: “Peter, you will be missed! Dude, your arena is filled! A dream struggles make the Celestial Arena! Soon we will all be together!”

CMLL: “The CMLL to join worth Luchist felt by the community for the regrettable death of the Son of Perro Aguayo”

Manik: “Life goes so fast man. I can’t believe some of us pack our bags and don’t make it home.”

On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Perro Aguayo Jr.
