WWE RAW superstar Paige’s in-ring career for the WWE is reportedly done after she was informed this week that she will not be cleared to return to the ring after her most recent in-ring injury, according to a report from PWInsider.com
The report also notes that Paige’s situation is similar to that of WWE Hall of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) being medically disqualified from in-ring action.
The injury occured at a WWE live event at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York on December 28th when during a 6 Woman Tag Team Match, Paige had her back to Sasha Banks, who was behind her against the turnbuckles. Banks used the ropes to pull herself up and kicked with both legs into Paige’s back, who was not ready for the bump, leading to her going down and when she attempted to get up, she could not get her legs from under her and when she finally did she turned to grab Banks, only to fall down and roll over to her back, where she stayed, leading to the referee checking on her and calling the match off. At that time, it was initially believed that Paige had suffered a stinger, however given her previous neck surgery, WWE pulled her from the ring to set up further testing, which led to this week’s decision.
On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to wish Paige nothing but the best going forward.
