Ohio Valley Wrestling raised $6,000 to assist Matt Cappotelli in his battle against brain cancer at their benefit event last night in Louisville, Kentucky.
For those unfamiliar, Cappotelli, a former WWE Tough Enough winner, was diagnosed with a Grade 2 giloma in 2006, which effectively ended his in-ring wrestling career. Most of the tumor was successfully removed in 2007 following surgery and Cappotelli undergoing radiation, as well as 2 years of chemotherapy. Cappotelli was informed earlier this year, after nearly 10 years of being in remission that his brain tumor had returned in a much more aggressive form, with the tumor diagnosed as a Grade 4 GlioBlastoma Multiforme (GBM), which is the most aggressive and deadliest form of brain cancer.
A GoFundMe account has been launched to support Cappotelli at this link. On behalf of Wrestling-News.Net, we would like to extend our best wishes to Matt, his family and his friends.
