It is with deep sadness to announce that Paul Frederik, better known as “Number One” Paul Jones during his time with Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions, passed away yesterday aged 75.

Jones is widely remembered for his Paul Jones Army, with many of Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling’s top heels made members of Jones’ stable at one time, among them The Masked Superstar, Superstar Billy Graham, Ivan Koloff, Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez, Abdullah the Butcher, and The Powers of Pain.

Jones retired from the business in 1991 and after retiring, he opened a body shop in Charlotte, North Carolina.
