In a statement on New Japan Pro Wrestling’s official website, NJPW President Harold Meij responded to reports from earlier in the week that claimed that talent in the company are unhappy in regards to the new management that have come in recently, making the work atmosphere less fun and more like a factory.

Meij said that the report left him feeling disgusted and denied the claims, noting that there are about 60 people who compete in New Japan Pro Wrestling, including some that don’t regularly compete in shows and that their positions and treatment differ. Meij said that he is working hard to make sure that the dark days will not come to New Japan Pro Wrestling again and that he hopes fans support his efforts.

Meij also noted that he supported Tama Tonga’s refutation of the report and said that Tonga responded on his own accord, without anyone from New Japan Pro Wrestling prompting him to do so. The full statement is available at this link.
