In an interview with former WWE superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman’s X-Pac 1,2,360 show earlier this week, Japanese wrestling journalist Fumi Saito provided an update on the legal issues surrounding Matt Sydal (f/k/a Evan Bourne).
Saito noted that Sydal was in jail for quite some time and that it took them eight to nine weeks to have court set and that there was finally court this week and Sydal plead guilty right away. Saito said that the prosecutor wanted 18 months in jail or 3 years probation and that Sydal is going to take the probation and that next week he’ll have a verdict, go to the airport and be sent home.
Saito also stated that someone reported Sydal to the authorities saying that it was his 30th trip to Japan and that the reason he got caught this time is that Japanese customs in Osaka were informed by somebody that Sydal is bringing in certain things and that it was mentioned in the court too that customs were informed by somebody, but are not stating who, only that they were aware that Sydal was bringing in certain things on certain dates.
Saito noted that Sydal is out on bail now and that the verdict is coming on Monday and that they will give him three years probation and no jail time and that he will be going home that day.
