Former WWE and TNA Wrestling superstar, Matt Hardy, was yesterday released from a local prison in North Carolina after the presiding judge in the first of Hardy’s many court dates, reduced his bond from $1million to $100,000.
According to a report from The Southern Pines Pilot, the prosecution had objected to the ruling from the presiding judge to lower Hardy’s bond, given the fact that Hardy was only initially released from going to prison on the basis that he would enter a WWE sponsored drug rehabilitation facility, however the judge overruled their objection and noted that Hardy could be released from prison if he posted the lower bond and checks back into a rehabilitation facility and completes his time there, however should Hardy fail, he will be arrested again with a bond set at $250,000.
Hardy will be back in court on November 30th on a DWI charge and will return to court on December 1st with various charges including felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver a Schedule 3 controlled substance, felony possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling for controlled substances and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Hardy will then return to court once again on December 6th, with a charge of reckless driving with wanton regard, before heading to court once again on December 21st, with a DWI charge and exceeding a safe speed limit.
