In a recent episode of his The Extreme Life Of Matt Hardy podcast, Matt Hardy discussed several topics, including his brother, Jeff Hardy’s current AEW contract status, confirming a report from Fightful Select that Hardy’s deal with the company was set to expire sometime in the Spring, despite the fact that many believed that his deal would have been extended into 2025 due to injury and sabbatical, with Matt also noting that Jeff was offered a new contract from All Elite Wrestling.
“I think that is accurate though, so I’ll give Fightful their flowers, I think that is accurate, it’s coming up a lot sooner than we thought it was going to come up. I guess it could be extended if need be, you know once again, I don’t know what they’ll do, it seems like from what I know and what I’m aware of, because when they offered me a deal, they offered Jeff a deal at the same time and they were very similar and his date was a lot earlier than we thought, so yeah, that report is pretty accurate.”
Hardy stated that Jeff was offered a new deal at the same time that he himself was offered a new deal by All Elite Wrestling, and said that he would rather do the final parts of his career with Jeff than without him going forward.
“I would rather do it with Jeff, because Jeff and I, we have all these appearances that we’re doing together, we’re at our best when we’re together, and I even think Jeff would admit that and say that as well. It’s most beneficial from us when we’re both together, so we shall see. If something happened, and it was just me doing my own thing, I’m okay with doing that, I’m not afraid of working hard and betting on myself. In a perfect world, it’s Jeff and I, we match up and we make the decisions together going forward.”
